For a year after my medically induced hysterectomy at 47, I didn’t feel like myself. I had put on 40 pounds of weight after losing 70 pounds of weight the year before when I was trying to get myself back into a healthy place in life my emotions were everywhere, I was hormonal, I was having hot flashes, joint pain, insomnia, fatigue, brain fog. And these are just some of the symptoms that I experienced out of so many I didn’t know what I could do to feel somewhat normal again. This was my new normal, and I was devastated at knowing that my doctors accepted this as part of growing older. I was angry and I wanted answers. I was recommended to see Dr. Tojino by a friend and she took the time to listen to me and ordered labs that I had never even heard of after speaking to my primary care physician. I started hormone therapy and I can honestly say it was the best thing that ever happened to me. it gave me back some sense of normalcy. I can’t say that all my symptoms are gone, but they are definitely manageable. I am able to work out again I have lost 30 pounds of the 40 I have gained and continue to prioritize my health, my eating, and my workouts so that I can continue to live a healthy life in this new journey that I’m in. If you are going through this, don’t accept from your doctors that this is your new norm, you have options. I’m glad that I advocated for myself and that I can now have some type of normalcy while in menopause. Thank you Dr. Tojino to you and your staff for all you do for me and other women going through the same obstacles in this stage of life.
