Started my weight loss journey with Genesis in Nov of 2024. Dropped a healthy 30lbs in 5 months or so. They were available to me at all times and made sure I was getting what I wanted out of the product. I referred my mom and best friend to them as well, they saw the same results I did! Unfortunately I cannot recommend Genesis Lifestyle Medicine. I went in to get my hormones tested because I was feeling off and extremely fatigued, gaining weight despite being very active in the gym, walking 20k steps a day and eating a strict diet. I had weird vibes on my first visit. I was told that I should be eating 950 calories a day and Amanda continued to tell me how she lives off of 750 calories and “feels great!” Right then and there I should have just walked out. Anyways, they drew my blood, I waited a week for my results and Michael called me when they came in and told me my testosterone was low and he recommended I come in that day to get a testosterone shot. So I did and before I go any further, I’m Type 1 Diabetic. I told them this on my very first visit, so I had no idea if testosterone was going to affect my blood sugar levels or anything like that. I was not told it would either. A few hours after the injection, my blood sugar skyrocketed and remained high for several days after. I decided I was not going to go back after that. Fast forward to this past Monday and I saw a new endocrinologist who has specialized in hormones for the past 12 years. I told her my experience with Genesis and when I told her that they gave me a testosterone shot and wanted me to take weekly injections, her eyes about popped out of her head. She told me my testosterone is completely fine and would have never recommended I do that. She also strongly disagreed with me eating under 1000 calories a day especially since I’m trying to gain muscle. The sad part is these kind of places are not regulated. These are not doctors and they should not be doing what they are doing. He was starting me on testosterone when I didn’t need to be and could have severely messed up my hormones even more. The fact that I was not warned it would increase my blood sugar is a big red flag. Because they have no idea what they are doing and if they went to actual school for this, then they would have been able to warn me. PLEASE do not go to this place. Please see an actual doctor who went to medical school. Who actually knows what they are doing and doesn’t encourage you to starve yourself to lose weight.
