What patients are saying

I felt heard and understood from our first conversation. Many questions she asked were things I never would’ve known to attribute to my hormones and as soon as I started the treatment, symptoms improved. I really appreciated her following up to make sure that we were getting my levels back to where they need to be so we could make any necessary changes. I am grateful to have found someone so knowledgeable and thorough!

The first consultation I felt like she was super helpful and I was so excited. Then she had completely ghosted me for months. I had asked many times for her to write a statement to get this covered by my FSA. She told me she could and then she never did. She only ever responded if it was to get my money. Not to actually help me. You can see in the screenshot that I had reached out for two months. I finally gave up. Feel Like her service is a total scam and I feel completely betrayed. This really put me behind financially and did not help any of my symptoms.

I was hoping to avoid writing a negative review, but after being a patient of Dr. Smithers for 5 years (since April of 2020), I’ve also been ghosted by her with no explanation as another review states. I wonder how many others have also had this experience recently. While I won’t rate her treatment plans and work with me one star, it’s always been phenomenal. But finding a doctor who you trust to only be abandoned with no explanation leaves a very bitter taste. Her recent complete lack of communication and abandonment is why this is a one star review, especially as a woman less than 6 months postpartum. Timeline of communication/abandonment: 3/13 - email that I’m out of medication and questions about breastfeeding safe supps. 3/14 - Dr. Smithers replies and tells me to have my pharmacy fax her my refill request. I reply and tell her she sent me my thyroid meds. 3/19 - Dr. Smithers replies and says she’s been sending the Rx to a pharmacy and asks how much supply I have. She also asks if she can run the card on file for my supps. 3/21 - I reply I have no supply left, and to run the card on file. 4/10 - I follow up because my card was never run and realized I hadn’t heard back. NO REPLY 5/22 - I call and she texts immediately asking how she can help. I text back that I’m glad she’s okay because I thought something happened with her lack of communication. She never replies back. 5/28 - Email Dr. Smithers and her assistant. No response. It is difficult to find a doctor to trust with your health, especially as a woman. I planned to work with Dr. Smithers as long as she was in practice. Now, that is not the case. If you are a current patient I hope this doesn’t happen to you. If you are seeking treatment, be cautious. It would take a lot of me to work with Dr. Smithers again as I’ve lost complete trust in her to care about my health and well being.

I can’t recommend her enough! From the moment I walked in, she made me feel completely comfortable and truly heard. She’s incredibly kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. It’s clear she genuinely cares and takes the time to understand what’s going on. I felt supported every step of the way—and best of all, I feel so much better on the treatment she recommended.

I was a patient here for almost 4 years. For the first 2-3 years, things were great. She was attentive, responsive, & I felt like the care I was receiving was worth the amount of money I was paying (out of pocket, btw). I referred my mom, sister, husband, & daughter to her as a result. I would tell anyone & everyone about how much she was helping me & I would encourage them to go get their labs drawn. I never received any thank you or referral discount from her. It was not expected, but it would have been a nice gesture. Over these 3 years, I have paid Dr Smithers thousands of dollars for follow ups, supporting her & purchasing her supplement (Restore), bloodwork, food sensitivity panels, etc. Over the last year or so, things have gone downhill. My last blood draw was in Feb 2025, Kim showed up & asked me for the lab order. I hadn’t received anything & Dr Smithers hadn’t sent her what she needed either. Thankfully, Kim had been drawing my blood for several years, so she knew what we typically do, & she was able to just guess. Dr Smithers is ON TOP OF IT when it comes to charging you for your appts, labs, supplements, etc. But when it comes to doing the work that comes along with it, she has been incredibly neglectful. My last appt was canceled bc her in-law’s dog was put down & she was upset. I am a dog lover & would be very understanding of this, on a regular day. The problem was that she used this exact same excuse to cancel my sister’s appt, several weeks prior. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt here & say they had 2 dogs. But putting a dog down isn’t typically something that comes up out of nowhere. Once, maybe... but twice within a few weeks? If she knew this was happening, she should’ve canceled the appts ahead of time. If we cancel that close to the appt time, we’re charged. But she can just cancel constantly, & offer no compensation for it, & we’re just supposed to say OK, no problem? In addition to the constant cancelations, she NEVER replies to emails in a timely manner. My sister had an appt in Oct 2024 & needed more supplements. She emailed for MONTHS. I then had to start emailing & ask why she wasn’t getting back to my sister. She didn’t get back to us or send my sister her supplements until Feb 2025. That’s 4 months after her blood draw/follow up appt. By then, things could’ve changed drastically! My mother also had her last appt canceled right before it was set to begin. She continues to have issues getting responses re: supplement refills and medical forms. I don’t think she even has an office phone that is monitored bc if you do find a phone number to call, no one answers. No one will ever call you, everything is done via email/text & then you have to wait weeks, if not months, for a response. Throughout all of this – I would see Dr Smithers posting on Instagram, soliciting for new patients! She can’t manage the patients she has, yet she’s trying to take on more? This was the final straw, & it was my own fault bc I should’ve known better at this point. But despite my better judgment, I scheduled a consult for my daughter. I had to pay $365 for this appt. I knew that Dr Smithers would cancel 10 minutes before, so I made sure to tell her to keep an eye on her phone prior to the appt. Sure enough – she canceled bc of a “flat tire”. She “did us a favor” & fit her in at 9 the next morning, even though it was a Saturday. She ended up spending 19 minutes on the phone. I paid for a 60 min consult. Since I’ve been a patient for so many years, & I referred so many people... AND, the initial appt was canceled at the last minute… I figured I would reach out to see if Dr Smithers would credit me that 40 minutes. I sent her 3 emails over 2-3 weeks - no response. In these emails, I also requested that she send me or Kim a copy of the lab order since her blood draw was already scheduled. The blood draw came & went, no response. She didn’t send anything to Kim either, even though she also reached out. *continued in photos since there is a limit here*
